Movies have the Oscars, TV has the Emmy's, Broadway has the Tony Awards, and at last - long overdue - Catholics have THE UNITY AWARDS! The sixth annual Unity Awards will be held at The O'Shaughnessy Theater at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday, November 12, 2005. Voting will be made by the UCMVA members, and will acknowledge top albums, artists, videos, songs, and groups.

This year we will be staying at The Saint Paul Hotel located in St. Paul, Minnesota. They are providing a special reduced room rate of $134 + tax (double occupancy) for UCMVA members. There are a limited number of rooms which are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Reservations are due ASAP. Please contact the UCMVA at 877-66-UCVMA to make reservations or for more information. (You must book your room through the UCMVA office, not directly through the hotel, in order to receive this special rate.)

Pollyanna will be co-hosting again this year and her CD 'Wings of Hope' has received many nominations. If you're a member of the UCMVA, be sure to send in your ballots!!!

The United Catholic Music and Video Association (U.C.M.V.A.) was founded in the Jubilee Year 2000 and held the first ever UNITY AWARDS in November of that year. (view Unity Awards 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 nominees and finalists)

This is the first time that Catholic musicians and Catholic video producers have joined together in an association of unity. The purpose of this association is to support, encourage and promote the development of all forms of Catholic oriented Christian music and video. This includes: Liturgical, Praise and Worship, Contemporary and Instrumental Compositions.

Catholic oriented music and video productions have grown and become diversified throughout the years, but their purpose and intention has remained consistent and focused on "Keeping the Faith Alive" and spreading God's message of Unity, Love and Evangelization.

As an um
ella organization, the UCMVA creates an atmosphere in which artists, producers, arrangers, retail stores, radio stations, concert promoters, dioceses, and parishes can come together and unify their efforts in order to benefit the organization as a whole.

The Unity Awards is the UCMVA's premier event of the year and consists of a day full of educational seminars for its members, music professionals and those who aspire to a career in the Christian music and video industry. The day culminates with the Unity Awards presented by the UCMVA for the purpose of honoring the achievements and excellence in various categories of music and video.

It is the hope of the UCMVA that individual members from around the world will not only receive many benefits from the knowledge of the association, but will forge together in unity and spread the word of God through its music and video presentations.
